Our good friend, Nick Barker of Pinfeathers Labradors, invited us to Norfolk yesterday for some training in his beet.
A professional trainer, Nick set up some challenging retrieves for our young and open dogs. Launchers, blinds, marks on cold game as well as dummies are all set to challenge and grow each dog.
Snipe and Hare were used to test the dogs on game unusual for our inexperienced dogs - with some really long marks from remote launchers showing off their improving abilities. Training in beet really does improve their ability to mark well.
One very amusing part was when Nick showed me his new techno method of placing blinds at a distance. The future has arrived!
