We have had a couple of youngsters from Cornwall here for some basic training. One was a pup from serious field trial lines and the other from a lovely home bred litter from a shooting and picking up home.
Each one is different with varying retrieve drive, independence and maturity; the key being working out gently who was who and what could be pushed and what needed patience.
We made some great progress with some early sticking points and also identified some real natural talent. Gentle exposure to the right training brings these little stars on... what a future they have.
